    Are you supposed to put the bait on the hook? Twice a mouse has gotten bait off the pedal without triggering the door.

      Dear Sarah,

      To release the trigger, they must step on the pedal, it is highly recommended to hang the bait on the hook, or put a small amount of (1oz) bait behind and on the pedal for better effect.
